 | When my wife was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer and we entered into the whirlwind of treatments and terror, I was frantic trying to support our family, not just financially by keeping my job, but by being there emotionally for our two children, maintaining our home and nursing Nancy as well. Nancy needed round the clock care and and attention and there just weren't enough hours in the day. I felt tugged in dozens of different directions. Caring Live-Ins referred us two wonderful caregivers * one who worked Sunday evening through Friday evening and the other Friday evening through Sunday evening) who competently took over Nancy's care with great compassion for the needs of Nancy and provided a wealth of emotional support for the children and me. I was able to return to work full time with complete confidence that Nancy was in good gentle hands. |

Keeping Mom in her own home was the right thing to do. Caring Live-Ins of Houston made that possible. The caregivers gave her the help she needed around the house and a companion when we could not be there. Because she was at home, we were able to enjoy traditional holiday celebrations with her, as a family, privately - cooking dinner, enjoying music, watching the children laugh and play. We had the flexibility to drop by for a visit any time, day or night and Mom’s friends were able to do the same. Most importantly, Mom’s doctors and therapists were astounded by the quality of her care and overall well being - even after being bedridden for more than three years. |

After my stroke, I was unable to care for myself and maintain my home for several months. I needed assistance with bathing, dressing, cooking, shopping, driving to and from doctor’s appointments -- all the normal day-to-day activities I’d always taken for granted. The social worker at the hospital suggested a residential rehab facility or in-home 24-hour care. I contacted Caring Live-Ins and was referred two potential caregivers that very same day. I have no doubt that being able to return to my own home with one-on-one care is why I was fortunate enough to make a rapid, full recovery - thank you Caring Live-Ins!
